Kennedy FitzGerald Architects were appointed through a design competition to set out a long-term vision to redevelop RBAI’s unique city centre educational campus in Belfast. Taking inspiration from Sir John Soane’s original 1809 masterplan, the proposals aim to maximise the potential of the campus to better meet the current and future needs of the school.

The planning application for the first phase, a new Southern Wing, including dining hall, class room facilities and a 25m swimming pool, was submitted in January 2024.
