Computer Science provides facilities for teaching and research as part of the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science departments of Queen’s University Belfast.

The building presents a modern coloured glass façade to Belfast’s Malone Road and forms a new landmark home for Computer Science at Queen’s University which is part of the prestigious Russell Group of Universities.

The project for a new flexible building providing teaching and research facilities encompasses a total area of 4,500m2 over four floors. The building which reused an existing concrete framed structure was extended to incorporate student hub facilities, computer laboratories, specialised laboratories, an interactive lecturing space, project spaces and office accommodation.

It also provides accommodation for all teaching functions, reception, administration, technical support and student experience spaces. Numbers of academic and research staff within the building are maximised to provide a centre of excellence for Computer Science. Energy efficiency, sustainability and environmental strategies have been implemented including targeted BREEAM Excellent.
