The Ashy Café refit transformed the existing, redundant Ashby Canteen space into a creative space for collaborative learning. Kennedy FitzGerald Architects worked closely with key stakeholders to create a vibrant set of flexible meeting spaces that provides a stimulating environment for interaction between both under-graduate and post graduate students from across the various QUB schools and departments.
KFA worked closely with the Historic Environment Division to secure Listed Building Consent for the project – ensuring that the historic significance of the listed building was enhanced by the new development. All aspects of the work were developed using BIM models to ensure that design proposals were fully coordinated and to allow end users to visualise clearly how the finished product would be realised.
